Mahabaleshwar sits 1,353 metres above sea level in the Western Ghats, about 120 km from Pune. Route and Drive Time
The standard route is Pune → Shirwal → Wai → Panchgani → Mahabaleshwar via NH 48 and SH 72. Distance is about 120 km and takes 2.5–3 hours. The Panchgani ghat section is winding but well-maintained — our drivers do this route daily.
An alternate route via Bhor Ghat is shorter by 10 km but slower due to narrow roads. We recommend the Wai–Panchgani route for comfort.
Weekend Itinerary Suggestion
Day 1 (Saturday): Leave Pune by 7 AM, reach by 10 AM. Check into hotel. Visit Arthur's Seat, Wilson Point, and Elephant Head Point in the afternoon. Evening at Venna Lake or the local market.
Day 2 (Sunday): Morning at Mapro Garden and strawberry farms (season: November–February). Stop at Panchgani Table Land on the way back. Return to Pune by evening.

Strawberry Season
Mahabaleshwar produces most of India's strawberries. Peak picking season is November to February. Mapro Garden is the obvious stop, but smaller farms along the road offer pick-your-own experiences. Even outside season, Mapro's strawberry products are available year-round.
Monsoon Considerations
June to September brings heavy rainfall — Mahabaleshwar is one of India's wettest hill stations. The greenery is stunning and waterfalls like Lingmala are at full force, but viewpoints are often obscured by fog. Ghat roads can be slippery. Our drivers use low-beam and take the ghat slow — plan an extra 30–45 minutes for the drive in monsoon.
